Connector Operations

Learn how to connect data sources, manage connectors, edit configurations, and delete connectors.

Connecting Data Sources

Connect your data sources to the platform:

Connection Process:

  1. Create Connector: Create a new connector
  2. Configure Connection: Set up connection details
  3. Validate: Validate the connection
  4. Save: Save the connector
  5. Use in Datasets: Use connector in dataset creation

Data Source Access:

  • Browse Files: Browse files in S3 buckets
  • List Tables: List tables in databases
  • Preview Data: Preview data before creating datasets
  • Select Data: Select specific files or tables

Connection Status:

  • Connected: Connector is active and accessible
  • Disconnected: Connector is not accessible
  • Error: Connection error occurred

Managing Connectors

Manage your connectors efficiently:

Connector List:

  • View all connectors
  • Search connectors by name
  • Filter by connector type
  • View connector status

Connector Information:

  • Name: Connector name
  • Type: Connector type
  • Status: Connection status
  • Last Used: Last time connector was used
  • Created: When connector was created

Connector Actions:

  • Edit: Edit connector configuration
  • Test: Test connector connection
  • Delete: Delete connector
  • View Details: View connector details

Editing Configuration

Edit connector configurations:

Edit Process:

  1. Select Connector: Choose connector to edit
  2. Click Edit: Start editing process
  3. Modify Settings: Update configuration
  4. Validate: Validate new configuration
  5. Save: Save changes

Editable Settings:

  • Name: Connector name
  • Credentials: Update credentials
  • Endpoints: Update endpoint configuration
  • Advanced Settings: Advanced configuration options

Edit Considerations:

  • Active Use: Check if connector is in use
  • Validation: Always validate after changes
  • Impact: Understand impact of changes
  • Backup: Consider backing up configuration

Deleting Connectors

Delete connectors that are no longer needed:

Deletion Process:

  1. Select Connector: Choose connector to delete
  2. Click Delete: Start deletion process
  3. Confirm Deletion: Confirm you want to delete
  4. Wait for Completion: Wait for deletion to complete

Deletion Considerations:

  • Active Use: Cannot delete connectors in use
  • Dependencies: Check for dataset dependencies
  • Permanent: Deletion is permanent
  • Credentials: Credentials are also deleted

Safe Deletion:

  • Check for active uses
  • Verify no dependencies
  • Backup configuration if needed
  • Confirm deletion
